About the Hub
Practical guidance for the PhD you’re actually writing.
Resourceful Scholars’ Hub is a free editorial site for PhD students – not a course, not a coaching program, just a growing library of field-tested guides.
Every article on the Hub answers a question that real graduate students ask: How do I structure a proposal that survives defense? What do examiners actually look for? How do I keep writing when fieldwork, teaching, and family all compete for the same week? We don’t publish theory. We publish the notes, checklists, and small systems that worked – written plainly, organized by topic, and always free.
Whether you’re drafting your first chapter or your fifth revision, the goal is the same: less time guessing, more time writing.
What We Cover
Everything on the Hub sorts into three shelves.
Each guide is written to answer a question real PhD students actually ask – not what a textbook says they should ask.

WHO RUNS IT
Built by someone still writing her own PhD.
The Hub is edited by Grace Njeri-Otieno, a PhD candidate in Kenya working in the Health Economics space since 2013. She started the site to write down the practical lessons she was learning the hard way – and to hand them to the next student who needs them.
Every guide on the Hub comes from that same place: what actually worked, written plainly, and made free.
The Aim
A go-to resource center for PhD students.
Not a course. Not a paid program. Just clear, field-tested advice – organized, searchable, and always free.
